Student Life AT PILOT
Pilot offers students a variety of clubs, sports, and activities to get involved with after school.
The Pilot School is a member of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and competes against other middle schools in the area. Students must be eleven years old to be eligible to participate in DIAA sports. For those students who are not old enough to play competitively, we offer club sports through outside organizations like Soccer Shots and Girls on the Run.
Clubs at Pilot are run according to student interest. Students interested in starting their own club are encouraged to find a faculty sponsor and post sign-ups! Our current in-school clubs include:
While many students choose to pack their lunch five days a week, we also offer My Hot Lunchbox as a fee-based lunch option for families. A hot lunch option from a variety of local restaurants is available to all students two days per week. Orders must be placed no later than noon the day before delivery. Pilot families are invited to create a free account and place orders at their convenience.
Regardless of whether they pack their lunch or use the hot meal service, all students can choose to take part in our milk program. Milk service is available from local farm Hy-Point Dairy, with a choice of 1% plain milk or 1% chocolate milk.
After School Care
Kidz Klub is an afterschool program that runs from 3:30pm until 6:00pm. Students can take part in structured activities or free play, both indoors and outside. For those interested, we offer a homework support space. This is a fee-for-service program, and parents can opt into a range of options. In the event of a last-minute need, Kidz Klub is available to all Pilot families through a drop-in rate.
